Buying gym equipment in Australia, including imports

Compare Australian retailers first. For an import, add freight and check who will help if something goes wrong.

How we choose equipment About our buying links

Get an Australian quote for the exact package before pricing an import. The catalogue already includes several local buying routes, from dumbbell bundles to premium racks. Import when the model or configuration justifies the freight and support arrangements; a US starting price is only one part of that decision.

Several retailers are already worth including

Start with the retailer that carries the kind of equipment you need. World Fitness adds a moderately priced FID bench; Southside has a conventional full rack; Sam’s lists both separate Smith machines and Ironmaster. The retailer directory collects these shops and the product pages used here.

Give both sellers the same order

A REP Ares attachment quote needs the correct rack series, post layout, height and stack selection. A dumbbell quote needs two handles, the included weight per hand and any stand. Put those details beside the price before converting currencies.

The same model name can cover different generations. The current Australian PÉPIN pair, a US expansion package and an older single-dumbbell listing should never occupy one price-comparison row without their contents.

Compare the full delivered price

  • Goods in the seller’s currency, with the exact configuration written on the quote
  • International freight, insurance and currency-conversion charges
  • Any applicable import charges, using the current Australian Border Force guidance linked below
  • Final delivery, unloading, access to the room and assembly

Who will handle repairs in Australia?

PRx is a concrete case: its published warranty excludes orders ultimately transported overseas. An international freight service does not remove that restriction. A local folding-rack alternative can therefore be worth considering even when its initial equipment quote differs.

For powered machines, the electrical version, account eligibility and installation route need to work in Australia. Save the seller’s answer with the configuration. Keep AUD and USD quote lines separate in My Gym until you have a complete conversion and delivery figure.
